I was born on 10th june 1954 a fateful friday in the mid night between 11-30-12.* born in a very poor family.where the father and mother are daily wage people.Basicaly we are from a vishwakarma -vishwabrahmana community, Herdictory work is Iron smithy.Very few days only have the works that too in the harvesting seasions and swaing seasions. we can say that about 3-4 months in a year.Mother also does daily wage works of agriculture.the tolal number of days working is about 3-4 months only. rest of the days no work and no food.we had some bear land we, used to plant vegitables and other low yealding varity of paddy which is grown in the dry land during the june-august seasions. We were planting topiaca in large r area, which was our main food.We had some cashew plants also weget some hard cash during april to may seasions. we used to collect cashew from our own land and some times form on the footpaths during the school holidays. This was the sourse for purchaising books and cloths for the school seasion. We used to book the old books as soon as the school is closed from the known peoples of higher clases. Some times we fail to get the old book since they might have failed in the class.Any hange in the curriculam sylebus is hard to us ,since buying new book is a hericulain task due to cost.
I studied up to 5th standard near our village school chemmaniyode.for 6th standard I went to Melattur where we studied up to 10th standard.I went to perintalmanna polytechnoic immidiately after the 10th cals.there i studied Engineering diploma in electrical engineering.
I passed with second class.ther after i went to BOMBAY in search of a JOB.Bofore coming to the employment and further progress. i would like to narate about my family members again. We are nine childrens .The eldest beeing an engineer in profession at VSSC.The second was a girl ,she died at the age of 3.The 3rd beeing another brother now employed in BSNL as a divisional engineer.the 4th is my turn mine. 5th again a girl she is about 50 living at pandikkad along with her husband who is ,managing a work shop and working in the work shop .The next was again a girl who died at the age of 5.Next is another boy who is a Bsc.mahts graduate working an BSNL as sub divisional engineerThe next is another boy who is a BA graduate doing social activities alinged with CPM.The last one is another boy who is working as peon in the registration
Now I am coming to mychild hood activities. In order to help father I used to go different houses forcollecting charcoal, scales and remains of paddy .This collected is stored in the smithy work shop which was located at melattur. We used to collect the charcoal wherever any function had been conducted or even form the back yards of hotel and restorents.I cannot forget the Salma Hotel at melattur from whose backyard i used to fetch coal/charcoal along with the dogs who in turn coms for collecting bons and other resudies of hotel. It was a terefic job nad unforgetble work I used to do most of the days.We used to work in the work shop up to 9-30 in the morning and then goes to school. During lunch time again comes to the work shop and help the father ,and also we take lunch from the work shop, it was prepaired my father along with his work.It was very tastfull kanji(Rice with water) and mulagu chammanthy /papaed.I thankfully rememeber shri.appunair grossery shop. From Mr.Manu mappilai used to give us daily some qty of oil and papad for the noon kanji.Vertualy it was free,it was even known to the owner of the shop.We used to help them when ever thay require any help from us ,for that we never bargain for any rates, what ever they give it is taken, some times we get more than what we expected and some times less. But no account is talked. He knows us very well, and some of his brothers, and his own son and neeses were our class mates. We were poor in economy but rich in knowldge and brightness.May occations I taught them many lessions and question answers. Most of the class mates wait for me in the morning to reach the class for just copying the home work especially the mathes.I never attended all clases in the 240working days of the school.During the cultivation/harvsting seasions we used to be in the hose to look after the yonger ones in the house. since both parents used to go for work.Like that we could gain experience in cooking also.Al our brothers cook well. We used to go and collect books from the classmates regularly and learn and prctice the tutorial in the house, along with our younger ones. When we reaches the school clases we were as good as the regular students. The teachers were happy with our performances, even if we are not attended the clases.most of the teachers knows our fate.So they never scrol or punish us unwantedly. We were busy either in the class or in the home. No one could find any fault with us.In the younger age itself we find to do hard work along with father and mother. Just like swaing bowing harvesting, making in to paddy and rice.etc.etc.All agricultureal activities are known to me.As and when we grown up some other activites also we had.thet I will tell you in the next episode.
